SO much for being right. "Huckabee ought to have apologized during the Des Moines Register debate, but he didn't,"
says Hugh. Adding "So he went to CNN immediately thereafter and asked for forgiveness." Memo to Hugh, it helps to be factually correct. Huckabee went to Romney and apologized BEFORE he went to CNN.
That was the story. Making such a false statement just continues to demonstrate a complete bias that more and more conservatives are rejecting.
For the Record, I am no longer as supportive of Governor Huckabee as I once was. However, no Republican candidate should be put in the cross-hairs every day by a fellow Republican. No one. Ronald Reagan's 11th commandment is obviously one that Hugh does not subscribe to.
SO much for being right part two: "When your campaign is in trouble, it is better to focus on the trouble and fix, not set it ablaze." The Daily Rasmussen Tracking Poll has Huckabee rebounding to a 4 point national lead. As Patrick Ruffini said, "
Huckabee has moved from niche regional contender to (for now) bona-fide national frontrunner. This is no longer just an Iowa deal. Sooner or later, both Mitt and Rudy will have to deal with Huckabee." Perhaps this explains Hugh's continued carpet bombing of Huckabee, so Romney doesn't have to be the one with his hands dirty at the end of the day...let Hugh do the dirty work and Romney can be the clean one? PS the Dems said they wanted a dumb governor who had no foreign policy experience who raised taxes while running his state. Reagan won by a landslide in 1980. Be careful what you wish for Hugh!
Again, I see the flaws in policy and have become less of a supporter of Huckabee. However, I realize he has a legitimate chance of winning the nomination and all we are doing us cutting off his legs for the General Election. There are plenty of warts on all of our candidates, however, let the Democrats do the work in June...instead of having a self-wounded candidate for the fall. Questioning each candidate and letting their record speak for themselves and pointing that out is one thing, a drumbeat louder than a metal band is another.
